About us

At Beowolves, our dogs are true members of the family. Our girls live harmoniously together and are never kept in kennels. They enjoy full access to our home and the spacious paddocks on our property in beautiful Gippsland, Victoria.

From a young age, I have been deeply fascinated by wolves, and developing a breeding program dedicated to the Lykos Wolfalike has become both a dream and a passion. My journey began in 2022 with the purchase of my first Lykos, Cinder.

In April 2023, once Cinder was old enough, I completed her hip and elbow x-rays, achieving excellent results. Following this, I received approval from the Lykos Wolfalike Council of Australia (LWCA) to breed her under the Beowolves prefix.

To ensure that my breeding practices meet the highest standards of care and ethics, I have:

  • Successfully completed the Breeders Course with Animal Welfare Victoria

  • Had my property and home inspected by the Council Rangers

  • Approved for Breeding by the Lykos Wolfalike Council of Australia

  • Become a member of the Responsible Pet Breeders Australia (RPBA), which included a full veterinary audit and inspection

  • Obtained local council approval and all required permits

I adhere strictly to the Codes of Ethics of each organization I am affiliated with, all of which uphold Australia’s most rigorous and ethical breeding standards. Every measure has been taken to ensure that Beowolves operates with integrity, transparency, and the utmost respect for the welfare of our dogs.

A word on desexing of pet puppies

All Beowolves pet puppies are desexed before leaving for their new homes, using hormone-preserving procedures designed to support natural growth and development. Females undergo ovary-sparing surgery, meaning their ovaries and uterus remain intact. This allows them to retain their natural hormones for proper growth and bone development. They will still experience normal heat cycles and bleeding but cannot become pregnant. Males receive a vasectomy, so they also retain their testicles and natural hormones. They may still show typical male behavior's, including mounting or tying, but will be unable to impregnate a female. When your pup reaches full maturity (around 18 months to 2 years), it’s entirely up to you whether to proceed with full desexing, though it’s not required. These procedures ensure your puppy benefits from the health and growth advantages of keeping their hormones intact, while preventing accidental litters.

The Lykos Wolfalike Council of Australia Inc. (LWCA) is the only official sponsoring parent club of the Lykos Wolfalike and other “wolfalike” breeds in Australia. The LWCA is a not-for-profit organisation, professionally managed by individuals with extensive experience in canine breeding, club administration, training, and related dog activities. Together, we are committed to the continued ethical development and recognition of this remarkable breed.
